Fortone is a bustling market run in stalls by the fairies and goblins of Nexus. Being run by tricksters, the market resulted in many deals that the buyers became trapped in. Most market-goers were aware of the ways of the fairies and goblins, but sometimes promises were made and couldn’t be fulfilled or loopholes were found in their words. Typical trades were money or valuables for the market item.
A famous stock at Fortone is the Fruit of Valen. The fruit is from a native tree to the goblins’ original home, and it is as large as a mango. Valen is a long-lost kingdom, but these fruits were once plentiful in that land. The outside of the fruit is shiny, but it has a fuzz similar to that of a peach. The exterior is sage green and the interior is yellow. The fruit can be used as a juice and eaten by itself. Once consumed (however only in its entirety) a vision of the future is shown to the consumer. The visions are brief and are often confusing. If consumed in part, visions of terror are shown to the consumer, they will be plagued by these visions until the remainder of the Fruit of Valen is consumed, thus becoming an ongoing trick amongst fairies and goblins to gain extra profit.
